ISO 9000 is a set of international standards describing requirements to the quality management system of organizations and enterprises.
ISO 9000 standards are adopted in more than 190 countries of the world as national ones. They are applicable to any enterprises regardless of their extent, ownership form and activity field.
The certification is carried out according to the unique standards of this set which correspond to ISO 9001 requirements. A two-level system of correspondence confirmation is in force. Specially established audit organizations (certification bodies) carry out the certification of quality management systems of different organizations.
ISO standards of 9000 set are general quality management standards which are applicable to any enterprises regardless of their extent, ownership form and activity field. The standards permit to estimate both separate processes and all results of company's activity.

- The ISO 9001 standard. The current version — «ISO 9001:2008 Quality management systems. Requirements» — establishes requirements to the quality management system which are used to confirm organization's ability to satisfy customer's needs and needs of other involved parties.
- The ISO 9004 standard. The current version — «ISO 9004:2009 Management to achieve a stable company's success. The approach based on quality management» — is a manual for company's activity improvement. It presupposes continuous improvement of all organization's processes on the condition of involvement of all employees at all levels.
